Jewish settlement from the 16th century. In the first half of the 18th century, Jews were required to move into the newlybuilt Lokšany ghetto on the northern side of the main square. Around two small open spaces grep 24 Baroque houses, the largest, the so-called "Popper palace", with a central courtyard.
